2018 Exam Success
Towers School were celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results this morning. There was a lovely atmosphere in the school as the hard work of staff and students paid off, with students achieving success in the new GCSEs. There is an amazing team spirit that exists at the school and students and staff were well prepared for the new, harder qualifications. The calm, purposeful environment that has been created makes for excellent learning - and the school will continue to drive this vision forward in September.
The school were particularly proud of the number of students who achieved a Grade 9 in the new GCSEs, which puts them within the top 4% of results nationally. Of particular note were: Daisy Butcher, Sophie Taylor, Leanne Fannon, Victoria Kukla, Jessica Garrett-Holmes, Daisy Smith, Bethany Stephens, Molly Jowdie-Toombs, Megan Shannon, Debis Limbu, Natalie Everest and Emilia Ciolek who averaged a 7 in the new GCSEs (equivalent to an old A grade in all of their qualifications).
Year 11 student, Emilia Ciolek said, “I can’t believe that I got three 8s in Maths and double Science. I’m so happy!”.
Principal, Richard Billings said “We are so happy to see the well-deserved success achieved by our students. I would like to take this opportunity to thank: the students for their hard work and commitment to their studies; the parents for their amazing support of the school and everything we are trying to achieve; and the staff and Trustees for their complete dedication”.
