New Year 7 - September 2020
Welcome to Towers School
4th March 2020
I am incredibly proud to be the Principal of Towers School and I am delighted that your son/daughter has been allocated a place at Towers School and Sixth Form Centre from September 2020.
Here at Towers, we strongly believe in traditional values that ensure a happy, safe and academic environment for every student in our care. We have high expectations of all of our students and expect everyone to live up to these, becoming the best versions of themselves. A strong welfare system which cares for and supports our children and their families stands at the heart of our school, ensuring the focus is on academic success.
We will be writing to you again shortly with a full programme that will ensure that your child will feel confident in their transition to the Towers School and Sixth Form Centre.
If you have further questions about any aspect of the Towers School, or would like to arrange a tour if you haven’t already done so, I can be contacted via my PA on extension 206.
We very much look forward to welcoming your son/daughter to our school.
Mr R Billings – Principal
Plan for September
We hope that you and your family have kept safe during this challenging year. We have been very proud of how our community has come together, including the enthusiasm and positivity with which our new Year 7 cohort have engaged with the Transition Google Classroom. It has been lovely to read their positive comments and see now much they are gaining from it.
Now, as we begin to look towards the next academic year and how we build on this, we wanted to write to you to clarify the start of term arrangements for September.
We are aware that students will have missed the face to face transition processes. Therefore, we would like to be able to spend some quality time with the year group in order to get them settled in before the rest of the school returns on Monday 7th Sept. We will build a programme to support them in their transition to secondary school, to welcome them fully into our community and to share with them our expectations for the years ahead.
Your child’s term will start on Thursday 3rd Sept at 8.45am. Once we have received more guidance from the Department for Education, we will be able to clarify whether any distancing measures will still be necessary and therefore how this might affect our students' return to school.
It is our hope and our wish that we will be welcoming students back to a normal school day at the start of a normal school year.
