Towers School and Sixth Form Centre

Ashford Family Food Bank

Dear Parent/Guardian,

In the lead-up to October half-term Towers School would like to support the Ashford Family Food Bank in the work they do to support families who are experiencing financial hardship, meaning they are unable to buy food or are left with a difficult choice between paying for food or other basic necessities. More information about the charity can be found on their website:

We would be very grateful if you could support our appeal for this charity by sending in any items from the shopping list they have provided (see below). Students can leave their donations with Mr. Hurren in T6 at any time outside of lesson time. Your donations will need to be in school by Thursday 17th October. Can we please ask that you ensure all items are still within their 'best before' or 'use by' dates.

- Tinned Meat (Curry, Chilli, Meat Balls, Hot Dogs, Pies, etc.)

- Tinned Vegetables (Peas, Carrots, Potatoes, etc.)

- Tinned Desserts (Fruit, Custard, Rice Pudding, etc.)

- Soups (Tinned & Packets)

- Dried Pasta & Rice

- Biscuits

- Cereal

- Tea & Coffee

- Long-life Milk

- Preservatives

- Pasta Sauces

Within a school community of 1,200 every social demographic group is represented and as a result, I am acutely aware that not every family is in a position to support this food drive. I am totally respectful of this position and the school is grateful of any donation, no matter how small.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr R Gaygan
