Sports Day 2019
Once again, this year’s Sports Day will be held at the Julie Rose Stadium on Monday 22nd July 2019, from 9.00am-1.00pm. For attendance purposes, this will be a ‘normal’ school day and, therefore, attendance is compulsory.
Where possible, we ask students to make their own way to the stadium for 9.00am, ready for a 9.30am start. Any student who would normally get a bus into school and cannot make their own way to the stadium will be transported there via the school minibus. Similarly, at the end of the day, any student that needs to get back to school will be transported back to school to await their normal bus.
As always, there will be a range of traditional track and field events for students to participate in with the opportunity to beat the school records. Alongside this, we will also be hosting a variety of fun and inclusive activities for students of all ages and abilities to participate in.
A schedule outline can be found on the school website. After the final presentation, students will be able to depart the stadium at 1.00pm. Students will not be able to depart prior to this time. Students departing the stadium at 1.00pm are not required to return to school unless they need to catch their normal bus.
Students competing should wear their normal P.E kit. As per previous years, the event will also be a ‘non-uniform’ day for those that are not competing. This year we will be raising money to contribute towards the newly formed Towers Community Trust. Therefore, we would ask that students contribute £1 for the privilege of wearing their own choice of clothing on the day.
As the day runs through lunchtime, students should bring with them a packed lunch or money for food served from the kiosk at the stadium. It is also recommended to bring plenty of water and sun cream. Students who would normally receive a free school meal will be provided with a packed lunch.
To enable us to arrange appropriate transport, please could you complete the reply slip below. This should be returned to your son/daughter’s Tutor by Wednesday 10th July. £1 contributions for non-uniform will be collected at the stadium.
