Year 7 Grammar Stream Enrichment Club
The students have been looking at World War One as part of a project with the University of Kent. As part of this work we visited the Remembering 1916 Exhibition at the Whitgift Exhibition Centre in Croydon. The exhibition showcases over 600 original objects and artefacts. The students really benefited from seeing the types of objects that they have been learning about in the after school sessions.
Having looked around the exhibition, students were given a special lesson about trench life and were allowed to handle a range of original objects including helmets, shell casings and button polishers.
The whole experience really brought this period of history to life.
