Workability & Enrichment Day
The Workability & Enrichment Day on a Tuesday is where students will be engaged in a wide range of activities to help improve their knowledge and skills for their current level of study and for their future. Students will be given the opportunity to become Student Ambassadors and work with some of our younger students.
There will be master classes in essay writing, effective note-taking and research as well as revision skills. Workshops on CV writing, interview skills and access to careers advice will also be on offer.
Students aspiring to university will be given sessions on UCAS, personal statements and student finance. Students will also benefit from workshops on personal finance, cooking for themselves and healthy living. Visiting speakers and trips will help form this provision.
Retake, Supervised Study and Work Experience
English and Mathematics
For students who have not yet achieved a C grade in English and/or Maths there will be lessons on a Thursday to work towards retaking these GCSEs. This will allow students to achieve a C+ grade which is now required by all universities and in most careers.
Supervised Study
The study centre will be open all day for students who have already achieved their C grades in English and Maths.
Work Experience
There will be an opportunity for students to gain work experience to supplement and enhance their studies and potential career path.
